Set on an edge westward of Kathmandu, Swayambhunath is the second most huge safe-haven in the Kathmandu Valley after Boudhanath. Due to the inhabitant monkeys that have bits of the asylum, it is even more affectionately known as the Monkey Temple.

      The Swayambhunath Stupa, painted with the eyes of the universal god, shapes the point of convergence of the safe-haven complex. It was at first an old club site, anyway the safe-haven complex dates to the fifth century. Swayambhu has a huge effect in the presences of the Vajrayana Buddhists of Northern Nepal and Tibet, anyway especially of the Newari Buddhists of the Kathmandu Valley.
